The path to the future
Tradition and future - In 1894, 130 years ago, Max Heller founded a steel trading company in Leipzig. Over the decades, it developed from a trading business into an industrial company. New locations and an eventful history have made SHB what it is today: one of the most modern foundries in Europe.
2020
Construction and commissioning of an 8.5 tonne MRP converter.
2013
Modernisation of the hand-moulding line for large castings, construction of a fettling centre for large castings with preheating furnace, fettling and testing booths and welding workstation.
2012
Integration into the DiHAG
2008
Commissioning of further new production facilities - mechanised hand moulding shop MHF, fettling shop, large boring mill.
2004
Commissioning of modern production facilities - automatic moulding plant HWS.
1997
Founded as SHB Stahl- und Hartgusswerk Bösdorf GmbH as a co-operation company of DIHAG Deutsche Giesserei- und Industrie-Holding Aktiengesellschaft.
1993
Founded as Stahl- und Hartgusswerk Bösdorf AG.
1990
The Bösdorf steel and chilled cast iron works is spun off from Kombinat Anlagenbau Braunkohle as a public limited company and becomes a trust.
1984
Commissioning of the production facilities at the newly built plant in Knautnaundorf. The plant in Bösdorf had to make way for the Zwenkau open-cast lignite mine.
1980
Laying of the foundation stone for the new plant in Leipzig Knautnaundorf.
1945
Resumption of production in Bösdorf with 70 employees.
1917
At the location in Bösdorf, the company is now expanded as Max Heller Successor.
1894
The Leipzig entrepreneur Max Heller founds the company Max Heller Stahlhandel in Leipzig.
